Help homes and businesses in Accra discover Clearwater. GHS 15 per hour, plus GHS 30 for every customer you sign up who places an order.

Role Purpose

Find prospects. Talk to them. Turn them into customers.

The Sales Representative finds and reaches out to prospective customers, answers their questions about Clearwater's service, and helps convert them into paying customers. You'll work mostly by phone and WhatsApp from wherever you are in Greater Accra — Clearwater gives you the playbook, the prospect list, and the support; you bring the conversations.

You'll work a set shift agreed with your manager. During your shift, you're actively making calls, sending messages, and following up — with the goal of getting prospects to sign up on the Clearwater app and place their first paid order.

Every conversation is in your name and ours. We expect you to be honest, professional, and respectful in every interaction. In return, you get steady hourly pay, real upside on every sign-up that orders, and the chance to grow into a senior sales or team lead role as we scale.

What You'll Actually Do

The day-to-day of the role

Prospecting

Finding Prospective Customers

  • Identify homes and businesses in Greater Accra that could benefit from reliable, clean water delivery
  • Build a daily list of leads from neighborhoods, estates, restaurants, salons, schools, churches, and small businesses
  • Use referrals from existing customers and community contacts to grow your pipeline
  • Keep your lead list organised so no prospect slips through the cracks
Outreach

Reaching Out & Following Up

  • Call and message prospects from your shift — introducing Clearwater, what we deliver, and how it works
  • Answer questions about pricing, delivery schedules, water quality, and how to sign up
  • Follow up consistently with prospects who are interested but haven't signed up yet
  • Send approved Clearwater materials (price lists, photos, links) via WhatsApp where helpful
Closing

Converting Sign-ups Into First Orders

  • Walk customers through signing up on the Clearwater app or via the wait list
  • Help customers place their first order and confirm their delivery slot
  • Resolve any sign-up or onboarding issues by working with the operations team
  • Earn GHS 30 commission for every prospect you sign up who places a paid first order
Communication

Honest, Professional Conversations

  • Represent Clearwater with courtesy, honesty, and professionalism on every call and message
  • Only make promises about pricing, service, or terms that have been authorised by Clearwater
  • Listen to customer concerns carefully — a "no" today can become a "yes" next month
  • Never use high-pressure, deceptive, or misleading sales tactics
Records

Tracking Your Pipeline

  • Log every call, message, and outcome in the Clearwater sales tracker — so we know who you spoke to and what they said
  • Update the status of every lead (interested, follow-up, signed up, not interested) accurately
  • Hand off prospects to the operations team cleanly when they're ready to sign up
Team

Working With the Team

  • Sync with your manager on what's working and what isn't — sales is a team sport
  • Share scripts, objections, and tactics that close so the whole team gets better
  • Communicate any customer issues or concerns you can't resolve directly to your manager promptly

Person Specification

What you bring — essential and desirable

Essential

Comfortable on the phone

You like talking to people. Cold calls, follow-ups, and WhatsApp conversations don't intimidate you — you find them energising.

Own a working smartphone

You have a smartphone in good working order, with reliable network and enough airtime/data to make calls and send messages throughout your shift.

Strong communication skills

Clear, polite, and persuasive — in person, on the phone, and over WhatsApp. Experience in retail, telco, market trading, hospitality, or any customer-facing role is a plus.

Honest and trustworthy

You will not misrepresent our service or use deceptive tactics. You handle confidential customer details with care.

Reliable on your shift

When your shift starts, you're reachable, online, and working. You give your manager honest notice if you can't make a shift.

SHS completed (or equivalent)

Senior High School completed, or comparable life and work experience. We care more about how you sell than what you studied.

Based in Greater Accra

You live in Greater Accra and can join occasional in-person team meetings or trainings. Most of the work itself is done by phone and WhatsApp.

Desirable

Nice to have, not required

  • Previous sales, telesales, retail, or customer-facing experience
  • A track record of hitting targets in a previous job or business
  • Experience with mobile money and digital payments
  • English plus Twi, Ga, or Ewe — multilingual reps reach more customers
  • Comfort using WhatsApp Business, Google Sheets, or a CRM tool
  • A strong personal recommendation from a previous employer or customer

Compensation & Terms

Steady hourly pay plus uncapped commission on every sign-up that orders

For every customer you sign up who places a paid first order

A few things to know up front

  • You must provide your own smartphone in good working order, with reliable network and enough airtime/data to make calls and send messages throughout your shift.
  • You work a set shift agreed with your manager. If you can't make it for illness or emergency, you let us know before your shift starts.
  • Customer phone numbers and details are confidential — we treat the customer list as sacred and so should you.
  • This is an independent contractor role under Ghanaian law. You handle your own taxes; we don't deduct SSNIT.
